The Indian folk art-’Patrachitra’ narrates a typical hunting scene in a green forest cover. Hunting has been a both a necessity and an indulgence in all the ages and all the parts. The painting shows a hunter aiming at the deer, which is running, for its life. It attempts to seek a refuge in the green bushes all around. One can also find the numerous chirpy birds perched either on the trees or flying high in the sky. A nondescript rabbit peeps from the bushes as the hunters take away a captured deer.
The handmade painting on cloth uses natural colors derived from vegetable dyes. The earthen tones complement the theme and feel of the painting.
