This ethnic Indian set of wooden toys from Andhra Pradesh, India, figures the famous ‘Dasavatara’ from Hindu mythology. Vishnu, the most prominent of the Hindu trinity of Gods, is believed to have ten Incarnations (Dasavatara) in ten different eras. From the left, we can see Matsya (Fish incarnation), Kurma (Turtle Incarnation), Varaha (boar incarnation), Narasingha (Lion incarnation), Vamana (dwarf incarnation), Parasurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha and Kalki(White horse incarnation, yet to appear). Seeped in tradition, this set is a visual delight and a preserver’s pride.
