Designer Bedspread
Dimension:
98 x 85 Inches
This patchwork bedspread from Gujarat pours forth the melodious charm of traditional Indian handicrafts. Weaved in yellow velvet and cotton, traditional patchwork embellishes the bedspread along with interspersed mirror work. Rich gold, yellow, brown and red render a regal feel. It is said that the decorative embroidery art of mirror work was initiated and developed by Mumtaz, the wife of Shah Jahan. Since the time of the Moghuls the women of Gujurat have continued to use mirrors in their embroideries. The traditon is still a living force and breathes in this designer bedspread.
