In this era of soulless industrial reproductions, people often complain of being surrounded only by simulations – nothing seems ‘real’ in the way they used to be. When everything is mass-produced, even human psyche is remodeled according to the needs of a globalized, post-capitalist economy, there hardly seems to be any point of respite. But the good news is that the earth is still breathing. Human hands are still crafting works of art that can never be recreated by technology, reproduced by industry. These immortal handicrafts silently challenge the emerging autonomy of a techno-culture.
